Daniel is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and supervisor in full time private practice. He originally trained with the Association of Independent Psychotherapists (AIP) starting in 2005 where the training aimed to hold a creative tension between psychoanalysis and analytical psychology. Daniel has run meditation retreats using a self-enquiry technique based on Zen Buddhism, and has spent 20 years working in NHS hospitals. Daniel is a member of the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) where he previously chaired the training committee and is also also member of the Guild of Psychotherapists where he is course leader for The Guild’s psychoanalytic supervision training. Daniel is also the clinical lead for the reduced fee service at Number 42, a group psychotherapy practice in central London.
After initially gaining a counselling certificate in 1994, Daniel's experience has included:
- working with rough sleepers with substance abuse problems (1994-2000)
- running meditation retreats (2003-2011)
- bereavement counselling (2003-2007)
- groupwork for men at the Core Trust addiction treatment centre (2004-2008)
- clinical psychotherapy (2007- ongoing)
- training committee member - AGIP psychoanalytic training (2018-2022)
- clinical lead - number 42's reduced fee service (2021 - ongoing)
- course leader - the Guild's psychoanalytic supervision training (2023 - ongoing)
